Mykel Frank-Rothenburger Bursary
Mykel Leslie Fritz Frank-Rothenburger
October 4, 2000 – March 31, 2017
Mykel Frank-Rothenburger was only 16 years old when he took his own life. His family has established the Mykel Frank-Rothenburger Bursary in his memory to help students with ADHD and mental health challenges continue their post-secondary education.
An annual bursary of up to $1,000 will be provided to a graduating secondary school student who has such challenges and who wishes to continue his or her education at a college, university, trade school or similar institution.
Mykel was an exceptional person. He was shy, funny, kind, artistic and inquisitive. He loved trying new things. He played the alto saxophone and composed his own music, liked to sing and act, and had a third-degree black belt in karate. He volunteered at the SPCA and took part in fundraising for cancer patients.
The future held great things for Mykel, and the world lost a wonderful young man with his passing. He never had the opportunity to reach his potential; his family hopes this bursary will help others reach theirs.
