Introducing the individuals who form our Board of Directors. They guide our efforts to strengthen and uplift our community by leveraging their diverse expertise, passion, and commitment to philanthropy.
Jacquie Brand
PRESIDENT
Jacquie joined the BCICF board of directors in 2020 and is currently the President. She has worked for or volunteered with non-profit organizations for 25 years, loving the various roles she has had the opportunity to play within our community and throughout the province. Her past non-profit experience includes serving on the boards of Volunteer Kamloops, the Women’s Resource Society, and BC Living Arts. Most notably, she held the position of General Manager of the Kamloops Arts Council for 10 years. Currently, Jacquie is the General Manager of YMCA BC Violence Against Women Intervention & Support Services. She has a deep appreciation for the non-profit world and for those it supports.
Greg Peace
PAST-PRESIDENT
Greg has been a Mortgage Consultant since 2003. He is a partner with a local firm, Mortgage Alliance. Greg currently volunteers with the Civilian Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA). The father of two amazing children, he enjoys the outdoors – camping, hunting and dirt biking as well as watching his children play sports. Greg is currently serving on the Investment and Fund Development committees.
Franca Petrucci
VICE PRESIDENT
Franca moved to Kamloops in 2016, having spent most of her life in Northern BC and the Yukon, she loves the Kamloops climate! Franca has extensive skills in business growth, market research, negotiations and program development and management in various professional sectors; non-profit, government and industry. When Franca is not working or traveling for work, you will find her ‘out and about’ partaking in one of the many activities she enjoys.
Jeff Carter
TREASURER
Jeff grew up in Alberta around the Edmonton Area. He graduated from the University of Calgary in 2016 after which time he moved to Kamloops where he joined Daley & Company LLP (now Grant Thornton LLP) to article for the CPA designation. He spent most of his first 4 years in Kamloops committing his time to work and the CPA education which he obtained in 2020. Since that time Jeff has continued to work as a Manager at Grant Thornton LLP and stepped into the role of Treasurer for the BC Interior Community Foundation in November of 2021. He hopes to help the Foundation grow into the future and achieve its goals of providing sustainable funds for good causes in the community he now calls home. In his spare time Jeff enjoys playing and watching sports, particularly the incredible golf Interior BC has to offer.
Alice Shether
SECRETARY
Alice brings extensive experience and a commitment to community development, having served as the administrative assistant at the BC Interior Community Foundation for over three years. During her tenure, she gained a deep understanding of the need for sustainable, long-term solutions for non-profit agencies. This insight has fueled her passion for volunteering and supporting missions dedicated to community betterment.
Currently, Alice is employed at the Turtle Valley Donkey Refuge, where she continues to channel her dedication to animal welfare and community service. She volunteers and pursues her artistic endeavors at the Kamloops Arts and Crafts Club and has also volunteered her time with Vancouver Pride, contributing to the celebration and support of diversity and inclusion.
Heather Archer
BOARD MEMBER
Heather considers herself fortunate to have been actively involved in many not-for-profit organizations, particularly in the fields of education, sport, and social services. Over the years, she has served as both a front-line volunteer and an employee, and has held numerous leadership roles within these sectors.
With a career dedicated to enhancing the capacities of not-for-profits as a trainer and consultant, Heather has made a significant impact on the organizations she has worked with. Now retired, she remains deeply engaged in her community, continuing to volunteer in various capacities in Kamloops. Heather is passionate about staying connected and contributing to the well-being of her community.
Darlene Iadarola
BOARD MEMBER
Darlene was born in Kamloops and raised her family here. She has an extensive background in accounting and several decades of successful small business entrepreneurship. She retired in 2016. Darlene has been a wonderful help in the office with updating our filing system.
Yvette Laflamme
BOARD MEMBER
Yvette grew up in Northern BC and moved to Kamloops, with her family, in 2003. She is the Associate Vice-President, Finance at Thompson Rivers University and has volunteered with several local non-profit organizations over the past 20 years.
Yvette is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA) with a Graduate Certificate in Leadership (Royal Roads University). She is grateful to volunteer with an organization that supports the community she is proud to live, work, and play in.
Paddy Harrington
BOARD MEMBER
Paddy Harrington has significantly contributed to various sectors throughout his career. He began as a Timber Cruiser at Hampton Lumber Mills and worked as a Switchman and Brakeman for the CNR. His professional journey includes roles such as a Moulder, a Pricer at Central Scientific, and an Immigration Officer in multiple locations until his retirement in 1996.
A committed volunteer, he has enriched his community in many ways. He has played piano for old age homes and held leadership roles in the St. Pats Credit Union, Kamloops Big Band, and Kamloops Museum Association. His long-term dedication to the Kamloops Rugby Club led to his induction into the Kamloops Hall of Fame in 2019. Paddy is not new to the BCICF Board and has held many roles including Director, Secretary, Vice President, and Chair of various committees.
Terri Mochikas
BOARD MEMBER
Terri has lived and worked in Kamloops for 44 years, where she raised her four children. She is currently enjoying retirement from the Corrections Branch after a 25-year career serving as a Correctional Officer, Supervisor, and Assistant Deputy Warden. Terri has a strong work ethic and was recognized for her excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Passionate and committed to promoting inclusion, equity, and excellence for all people, Terri, along with her wife Vessy, loves to be involved in organizations that provide support and opportunities in their community. Terri has a long history of volunteering and fundraising in the community, having served on the boards at the Phoenix Center and with Kamloops Pride.
Terri has an extensive history of fundraising for women’s cancer research, the Y Women’s Emergency Shelter, Heart and Stroke Foundation, and numerous local sports events and organizations. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her seven grandchildren, family, and friends, enjoying many of the outdoor activities Kamloops has to offer, including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, paddling, and golf.
Kathy Sinclair
BOARD MEMBER
Kathy Sinclair has worked as a writer, book and magazine editor, communications consultant and not-for-profit administrator. She moved to Kamloops in 2011 and volunteered with a variety of organizations, including the SPCA and Literacy in Kamloops. Kathy was executive director of the Kamloops Arts Council from 2012-19 and a Kamloops city councillor from 2017-22. She currently works for the Ministry of Emergency Management & Climate Readiness.
