Established in 2022 by Vivian Hildebrand

For Vivian Hildebrand, bringing joy to others was simply a way of life. A gifted pianist who taught herself to play by ear as a child, Vivian shared her love of music throughout her lifetime, brightening countless occasions and bringing smiles to generations of listeners.

Nowhere was this spirit of generosity more evident than in her dedication to Mountain View Lodge in Lillooet, BC. For 29 years, Vivian was a devoted member of the Mountain View Lodge Auxiliary, sharing her time, talents, and infectious enthusiasm with residents. Whether playing familiar melodies at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas celebrations or simply bringing people together through music, Vivian understood how much a little kindness and companionship could mean.

In 2022, she extended that commitment by establishing the Friends of Mountain View Lodge Auxiliary Fund through the BC Interior Community Foundation. The fund supports residential care in Lillooet, with a particular focus on the work of the Mountain View Lodge Auxiliary and its efforts to enhance the lives of residents.

Vivian’s family remembers her as a woman of fierce determination, boundless generosity, and an everlasting positive attitude. Her personal motto, “Keep a song in your heart,” was more than a favourite saying. It was how she lived.

Although Vivian passed away on September 7, 2026, the joy she brought to others lives on through the music she shared, the friendships she nurtured, and the charitable fund she so thoughtfully established.

Through the Friends of Mountain View Lodge Auxiliary Fund, Vivian’s kindness and generosity will continue to enrich the lives of residents in the community she cared about so deeply.

In memory of Vivian Hildebrand, family and friends are invited to support this fund and continue the kindness, compassion, and generosity that defined her life.
