The Reid Davidson Memorial Fund was established to honour the life and legacy of Reid Enzo Ross Davidson, who tragically passed away on July 20, 2023, at the age of 24. Reid left a legacy of kindness, dedication, and community spirit.
Born on February 23, 1999, in Kamloops, BC, Reid was a proud graduate of the French Immersion program at Peter Skene Ogden in 100 Mile House, earning his Double Dogwood diploma in 2017. He pursued higher education at Vancouver Island University (VIU), where he excelled both academically and athletically. He earned a Bachelor of Tourism Management with a Major in Recreation, a Recreation and Sport Management Diploma, and an Event Management Certificate. Reid was recognized for his academic excellence, making the Dean’s Honour List twice and being named a CCAA National Scholar twice.
A dedicated athlete, Reid began playing soccer in 100 Mile House, and as a teen travelled to Kamloops to play rep soccer with the KYSA Blaze. At university he played soccer for the VIU Mariners, earning the title of Unsung Hero in 2019. His passion for sports extended beyond soccer to include minor hockey, high school basketball, and golf. Reid’s contributions to the community were numerous, and his involvement in sports and various organizations earned him the respect and admiration of many. He was known for his genuine, humble nature and his ability to make friends easily.
The Reid Davidson Memorial Fund aims to continue Reid’s legacy by supporting students who demonstrate academic excellence, athletic prowess, and a commitment to community service. This fund provides several scholarships to help recipients pursue their educational goals while embodying the values that Reid cherished.
